BEIJING – Asian stocks were mostly lower on Thursday after Wall Street benchmarks fell and Japan reports a 14th straight month of monthly trade deficits due to high oil and other commodity prices and a weakening yen.
Wall Street futures were mixed while oil prices rose.
Japan’s trade deficit hit a record high in the first half of the year, although it narrowed slightly from the previous month and was lower than analysts had forecast.
