TOKYO (AP) – Asian stocks rose on Thursday, although optimism that the US Federal Reserve is holding back aggressive rate hikes was offset by some uncertainty over coronavirus restrictions in China.

Trading in Asia was relatively muted before US markets closed for Thanksgiving. Benchmarks rose in Japan, Australia and South Korea in early trade but fell in Shanghai. Oil prices fell.
