COLOMBO (News 1st) – A shipment of crude oil ordered by Sri Lanka has remained at anchor in Sri Lankan waters for nearly 53 days as local authorities failed to pay for the cargo.

A Department of Energy and Energy source said that as Sri Lanka has yet to make payments for two earlier shipments of crude oil, the ship in port has declined calls to unload the shipment.
