A London judge has rejected Nigeria’s request for compensation for Glencore bribery offenses as the commodities trader faces corruption charges next week.
Judge Peter Fraser dismissed the government on Wednesday Nigeria had no legal authority to seek redress for crimes committed on its shores due to the nature of UK criminal law, meaning it would have to find other avenues.
