Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has revealed the rationale behind hiring private security companies to fight crude oil theft.
Mele Kyari, the NNPCL Chair, made the announcement at the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) Energy and Labor Summit 2022 in Abuja on Tuesday.
According to Kyari, the use of private security firms helps detect illegal oil sites.
