Oct 27 (Reuters) – US shale producer Pioneer Natural Resources Co (PXD.N) on Thursday posted better-than-expected third-quarter earnings as crude oil prices teetered near multi-year highs following sanctions on Russia, a top oil and gas producer.

Crude oil prices recently cooled from 14-year highs hit in early 2022, but were still more than 30% year-over-year higher in the quarter, benefiting producers like Pioneer.
