Energy stocks were higher on Wednesday afternoon, with the NYSE Energy Sector Index up 2.6% while the SPDR Energy Select Sector ETF (XLE) was up 2.9%. The Philadelphia Oil-Service Sector Index was up 4.0%, but the Dow Jones US Utilities Index slipped 1.3%.
