Energy stocks were up Friday afternoon, with the NYSE Energy Sector Index up 1.5% while the SPDR Energy Select Sector ETF (XLE) was up 1.1%. The Philadelphia Oil-Service Sector Index was up 1.8% and the Dow Jones US Utilities Index was up 0.1%, reversing a midday slide.
