Energy stocks slipped slightly from their midday highs on Tuesday, with the NYSE Energy Sector Index up 2.9% at the close and the SPDR Energy Select Sector ETF (XLE) up 3.1%. The Philadelphia Oil-Service Sector Index was also up 3.3%, while the Dow Jones US Utilities Index rose 0.8%.
