Bombay: The rupee pared initial gains, falling 7 paise to 81.33 against the US dollar on Friday as support from a weak dollar was offset by weak domestic markets and gains in crude oil prices.

Forex traders said foreign capital outflows also weighed on investor sentiment.

In the interbank FX market, the local unit opened at 81.11 but pared gains to close at 81.33, 7 paise below its previous close.
