Production output from 13 of Nigeria’s 29 crude oil terminals fell sharply between July and September 2022, according to data Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).

The dwindling output is said to be related to increased oil theft in the Niger Delta region. A recently report by Nairametrics detailed the extent of the threat, which has been described as an “existential threat” to the Nigerian oil industry.
