PECOS, Texas (KOSA) — Three crude oil pits are on fire 18 miles north of Pecos, according to Sheriff Art Granado of the Reeves County Sheriff’s Office.
The land on which the pits are located is owned by Republic Services.
An acid tank was also reportedly on fire, but Sheriff Granado says the fire was put out.
The sheriff also confirmed that firefighters are working to put out the pit fires.
