According to data released by the Energy Information Administration on Wednesday, US commercial crude inventories fell more-than-expected, but diesel fuel inventories unexpectedly rose for the third straight week.

Benchmark US oil prices, which were little changed prior to the report’s release, remained so afterwards. The Nymex December front month crude contract was recently up 0.2% to $88.55 a barrel.
